Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information owaisattari.com collects, why, who processes it and how you can ask for it to be deleted. The site is the personal website of Owais Attari, based in Pakistan.

What we collect

• Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone or WhatsApp number, optional area of work and your message.
• Spam protection: when you use the contact form, Google reCAPTCHA collects device and browser information (for example IP address, browser type and interaction data) to check that you are not a bot.
• Server logs: our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, browser, page requested, time) to keep the site running and secure.
• Analytics (only if you accept): if you click “Accept” on the cookie banner, Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, and which buttons or links were clicked. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4.
• Your theme choice: if you switch to dark mode, the choice is saved in your own browser (local storage). It never leaves your device.

We do not use advertising or tracking pixels, and analytics runs only after you give consent.

Why we use it

Only to read and reply to your message, to protect the form from spam and abuse, to keep the website secure and, if you accept analytics, to understand which pages are useful and improve the site. We do not sell, rent or share your information for marketing.

Who processes it

• Vercel Inc. hosts the website and runs the contact form's server check.
• Google LLC (reCAPTCHA) provides spam protection. Google's Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab) and Terms (opens in a new tab) apply.
• Google LLC (Google Analytics) measures site usage, only after you accept. See how Google uses data from sites (opens in a new tab).
• FormSubmit delivers your form message to Owais's email inbox.
• Google (Gmail) stores the email Owais receives.

These providers may process data outside Pakistan, including in the United States.

Cookies

Analytics cookies (optional): if you accept, Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_95EX2DNWP0 cookies, kept for up to 2 years, to count visits. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics is not loaded. You can change your choice any time with Cookie settings (also in the footer of every page); declining removes these cookies.

Other cookies: apart from analytics, the website itself sets no cookies. When the contact form loads, Google reCAPTCHA may set a strictly necessary security cookie (such as _GRECAPTCHA) used only for spam protection. Because it is essential to protect the form, it does not require consent. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the contact form may then not work; you can still reach Owais on WhatsApp.

How long we keep it

Messages are kept for as long as needed to continue the conversation, and no longer than 24 months after the last contact unless you ask otherwise. Hosting logs are kept by Vercel for a short period under their own policy. Analytics data is kept for 14 months, then deleted automatically.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information you sent, or ask us to stop contacting you. Send the request through the contact form or on WhatsApp (+92 310 7124459) (opens in a new tab), and it will be handled within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have rights under the GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS, uses strict security headers and verifies every form submission. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
